Chevron Flooring

Chevron Flooring

Chevron flooring is the parquet that turns a room into a statement. Our chevron comes in engineered oak from the 15/3mm iDesign range: a real oak veneer over a stable timber core, so you get genuine warmth and grain with a floor built for Australian homes.

Where herringbone stacks offset rectangles, chevron cuts each plank on an angle so the ends meet in a clean, continuous V. The result reads more contemporary and distinctly European. Order a sample to see the tone in your own light, and every floor here is price matched.

Chevron or herringbone: what is the difference?

Both are parquet patterns, but the geometry sets them apart. Herringbone uses rectangular planks laid at 90 degrees so one end butts against the side of the next, creating a broken, offset zig-zag. Chevron planks are cut at an angle on each end so two planks meet point to point, forming an unbroken V that runs in crisp lines down the floor.

That clean V gives chevron a sharper, more architectural feel. It reads modern and European, while herringbone leans a little more classic and busy. If you want a floor that looks tailored and continuous, chevron is the one to sample.

Engineered oak, made for real rooms

Our chevron is genuine timber: a top layer of real oak over a multi-ply core that resists the movement solid boards can suffer through Australian temperature and humidity swings. You get the look and feel of a premium oak floor with better dimensional stability underfoot.

It is water-resistant with care but not waterproof, so keep it to living spaces, bedrooms and hallways and avoid wet areas like bathrooms and laundries. For exact wear-layer, finish, warranty and installation detail, download the manufacturer info sheets on each product page.

Frequently asked questions

Is chevron flooring real timber?+

Yes. Our chevron is engineered oak from the 15/3mm iDesign range, with a genuine oak veneer over a stable timber core. It is real wood, not a printed laminate, and gives you the warmth and grain of a premium oak floor.

How is chevron different from herringbone?+

Chevron planks are cut on an angle so their ends meet in a continuous, clean V or zig-zag point. Herringbone uses rectangular planks offset at 90 degrees. Chevron reads more contemporary and European, herringbone a touch more classic.

Can I use chevron flooring in a bathroom or laundry?+

No. As engineered timber it is water-resistant with care but not waterproof, so we recommend keeping it to living spaces, bedrooms and hallways and avoiding wet areas. Check the manufacturer info sheet on the product page for care guidance.

Can I get a sample before I buy?+

Yes. Order a sample from any chevron product page so you can see the oak tone and grain in your own space and light. Samples are paid, and every floor we sell is price matched.

Where can I pick up or get chevron flooring delivered?+

We offer click-and-collect from our Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne warehouses, and depot freight Australia-wide. Delivery options and timing show at checkout once you enter your address.
