Real oak, engineered for stability
Engineered timber is genuine wood. A real oak veneer sits on top of a multi-layer core that resists the swelling and shrinking that affects solid boards, which makes it a smarter choice across our Australian climate. You get the depth, grain and feel of natural oak with better dimensional stability year round.
It is water-resistant with care, not waterproof, so it suits living areas, bedrooms and hallways rather than wet zones like bathrooms and laundries. For exact structural specs, wear-layer thickness and suitability, check the downloadable manufacturer info sheets on each product page.
Three ranges, three formats
iDesign pairs a thicker wear layer on a stable core for a hard-wearing plank, Classique Oak offers a refined everyday oak, and Australian Classic brings a generous wear layer suited to long-term living spaces. Each product page lists its exact veneer and core build.
Choose classic wide planks for a relaxed, contemporary look, or step up to herringbone and chevron for a considered, design-led floor. All three formats carry the same real-oak character.
Price matched, with samples and full specs
Every engineered timber floor we sell is price matched, so you can buy with confidence. Order a sample to check the colour and grain in your own space, since timber reads differently under natural and artificial light.
Each product page carries downloadable manufacturer info sheets: installation and maintenance guides, warranty details and fire, slip and acoustic reports. Refer to these for the exact figures that apply to your chosen floor.
Frequently asked questions
Is engineered timber real wood?+
Yes. Engineered timber has a genuine oak veneer bonded to a dimensionally stable core. It looks and feels like solid timber because the surface is real wood, and the layered core makes it more stable than a solid board.
Can I use engineered flooring in a bathroom?+
We do not recommend it. Engineered timber is water-resistant with care but not waterproof, so it suits living areas, bedrooms and hallways rather than wet areas like bathrooms and laundries. For water and area guidance, see the manufacturer info sheet on the product page.
What is the difference between the iDesign, Classique Oak and Australian Classic ranges?+
They differ mainly in veneer and core build, which affects how the floor wears and sands over time. The ranges also span plank, herringbone and chevron formats. Each product page lists the exact construction and links to the full spec sheet.
Do you price match engineered timber flooring?+
Yes. Every engineered timber floor we sell is price matched. If you find a comparable product cheaper, get in touch and we will match it.
Can I collect my order or get it delivered?+
You can collect from our warehouses in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, or we can arrange depot freight Australia-wide. Order a sample first if you would like to check the colour and grain before buying.
